Amy’s Kitchen Launches Multipack Burritos in Time for Back to School

What are you having for dinner tonight? Busy families can rejoice because Amy’s Kitchen is launching a multipack of its bestselling burritos that will offer families an easy and budget-friendly quick-prep meal.

The multipacks will be available in two popular options: the Bean, Rice, and Cheese Burrito made with white cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses and the dairy-free Bean and Rice Burrito. The multipacks come just in time for back-to-school when that age-old dinner question at the end of a long day can be enough to spark bickering.

Designed to deliver the essence of a restaurant-style burrito with the convenience of home dining, the burritos take just minutes to heat and enjoy.

Amy’s Kitchen Takes a ‘the More the Merrier’ Approach

“Our multipack burritos offer the perfect solution to keep your favorite burritos stocked. They are a convenient and organic option that not only tastes great but is also easy to enjoy, even on the go. Meals or snack time has never been this seamless,” Fred Scarpulla, Amy’s Kitchen’s chief culinary officer, said in a press release.

The organic prepared foods company notes it could be an ideal dinner or lunch or even a satisfying after-school snack, especially since it’s quick to heat and requires little to no cleanup. Amy’s Kitchen also acknowledges dietary needs, making its Bean, Rice, and Cheese Burrito soy-free, tree nut-free, and kosher. Its plant-based Bean and Rice Burrito is free of dairy, lactose, soy, corn, and tree nuts, and it’s also kosher.

Amy’s Kitchen’s CEO Paul Schiefer adds that the multipack launch made sense, especially when so many people are feeling the pinch of rising prices at the grocery store. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ most recent consumer price index report, food prices rose 4.3% between August 2022 and August 2023. Schiefer says Amy’s Kitchen wants to pitch in and help.

“We know that inflation has been difficult. It’s raised the cost of food for a lot of people across the country,” Schiefer says. “And we also know that a lot of families really are balancing child care with work and life, and they need something that really tastes good, that’s convenient, and feeds the whole family at an affordable price. And our family packs are intended to do that.”

Prepared with organic and non-GMO ingredients such as organic pinto beans, organic brown rice, and wheat tortillas, smothered in a slow-cooked, mild Mexican-style sauce, Schiefer assures the larger burrito packs won’t skimp on the level of quality that’s become synonymous with the brand.

Burritos With More Bang for Your Buck

“By building these bigger pack sizes, we’re able to bring new value to our consumers and make Amy’s work as a lunch or dinner solution for an entire family,” Schiefer explains.

Staying in touch with the needs of its customers is something that remains at the heart of Amy’s Kitchen’s mission. The frozen food phenomenon that began over a simple vegetable potpie in Rachel and Andy Berliner’s kitchen more than three decades ago still pores over fan letters. When a desire for more multipack options arose, Amy’s Kitchen felt obliged to answer the call.

“The way to do that is by finding the highest quality ingredients, working directly with farmers and growers on varieties and processing techniques so we get the best to start with,” Schiefer describes. “And then really cooking food, not manufacturing it, which means we use real herbs and spices, we saute onions, we saute garlic, we build roux.”

Amy’s Kitchen’s burritos have garnered a growing fan base over the years and the fan reviews speak for themselves. “My grandmother bought a bunch more of these but I didn’t realize they were dairy-free compared to the other ones,” Alexis T. wrote on Amazon about Amy’s dairy-free Bean and Rice Burrito. “These are single-handedly the best microwave brand food I have ever had, not to mention burrito! They taste fresh and fill me up well so they’re perfect for a quick meal or just a midnight snack! these are incredible.”

Summer F. wrote on Amazon about Amy’s cheese burritos: “Delicious and Healthy. Taste better than other leading products. Big and Full of Beans, Rice, and Flavor. The Best!”

Gaspard D. took to Amazon to give Amy’s Kitchen’s cheese burritos a glowing review, deeming them “ the best frozen burritos I’ve ever had,” and singing the praises of its creamy beans and cheesy flavor.

But burritos aren’t the only new addition to the multipack options Amy’s Kitchen is releasing this fall. In October, Amy’s unveiled six new family-size options in the works, including vegetable lasagna, pad thai, roasted poblano enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, pesto tortellini, and broccoli and cheddar bake.

For those on the go in California, fans of Amy’s Kitchens burritos can get their fix at Amy’s Drive Thru, which features organic burritos in gluten-free and vegan options and a burrito bowl. Children can even get in on the fun with bean and cheese burritos available in a kids meal. Amy’s multipack burritos are available nationwide at retailers such as Amazon Fresh, Instacart, and Kroger for a suggested retail price of $12.99.
