21. Jalapeno Corn Dip

 Jalapeno Corn Dip

This Jalapeno Corn Dip takes minutes to make! Sweet corn, peppers, jalapenos, and cheese – don’t forget the corn chips! I made a couple of different variations, experimenting with the base ingredients.  The first one I tried had mayonnaise in it, and I decided on my next try to leave that out and go with cream cheese.  It’s always nice when you are leaving a dip out at room temperature so you don’t have to worry about mayonnaise. I also adjusted the level of heat, which comes from the jalapeño and cayenne pepper. I tried using different cheeses, like cheddar and Monterey Jack, and a combo of both. These recipe is a perfect 4th of july appetizers that are great for these holidays.

20. Sausage and Stuffing Balls

Sausage and Stuffing Balls

This Sausage Stuffing Ball recipe was actually shared years ago on the blog as part of a Christmas post, but it’s so good that it deserves to have a post of its own! They were an instant hit at our family Christmas gathering that year and since then, have made the menus of multiple parties, holiday celebrations, and “just because we wanted them” snack times! These Sausage Stuffing Balls make a great appetizer, but they are also really good served with some boiled eggs and toast. The recipe is super simple and delicious and very unlike the traditional sausage ball recipe made with biscuit mix and cheese. These can be mixed in a bowl, but I’m going to share how to do it my way. It’s a lot easier and it’s one less dish to wash!

 Patriotic Deviled Eggs

Patriotic Deviled Eggs – CRAZY good deviled eggs. Eggs, mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, dry mustard, pepper, onion, and paprika. Dye the hard-boiled eggs red and blue for a fun patriotic snack or 4th of july appetizers! Aren’t these Red, White, and Blue Deviled eggs cute?! I saw a few blog posts around Easter for dyed hard-boiled eggs. I thought they were so cute so I decided to give them and try for the 4th of July. They looked and tasted great! These deviled eggs would be a great addition to your holiday BBQ next week. The dying process is very simple and doesn’t require any vinegar. It requires only three ingredients – peeled hard-boiled eggs, water, and food coloring. I let the eggs sit in the dye for about 2 hours and then sliced them for deviled eggs. They had a great ring of color around the edge of the egg. I thought they looked great! The possibilities are endless!

Regardless of how you whip them up, my favorite way to serve them will always be roasted, loaded with garlic powder and parmesan cheese, and drizzled with good olive oil. 11. Loaded Southwestern Sweet Potato Fries

 Loaded Southwestern Sweet Potato Fries

Need a healthy upgrade to french fries? These Loaded Sweet Potato Fries are sure to hit the spot! With the Southwestern twist, their flavor packs a punch! French fries are my absolute weakness!  Potatoes in general are one of my favorite 4th of July appetizers because you can be entirely creative when incorporating them into dishes. They work well for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert (hello, sweet potato pie)!  Essentially, they’re perfect food! Did you know that there is a difference between a sweet potato and a yam?  I’ve always thought they were basically the same, orange-fleshed potato.  That’s until recently discovered white sweet potatoes. The orange variety is marketed as yams.  White sweet potatoes look like regular potatoes but have sweet flesh. It’s kind of a mind trick when you’re eating them. That’s why I thought they would make great french fries!

8. Avocado Cucumber Shrimp

Avocado Cucumber Shrimp

This is such an easy shrimp appetizer recipe but it is a mouthwateringly good and special occasion worthy. It will be the talk of your next party! These shrimp appetizers have plump juicy cajun shrimp over creamy avocado on a crisp slice of cucumber. These shrimp cucumber bites are a delicious mouthful! The flavor profile of these shrimp appetizers is similar to our shrimp avocado salad (one of our most popular shrimp recipes!), so if you enjoyed that, you will go crazy for these shrimp cucumber bites! My husband and son loved these! This recipe yields 20-22 cucumber bites (depending on how many shrimp are in a pound of shrimp). The homemade cajun spice sears onto the shrimp giving it an amazing spicy kick. If you prefer a milder appetizer, you can easily cut the paprika and cayenne in half.

7. Goat Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates with Rosemary Honey.

Goat Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates with Rosemary Honey.

Goat Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates with Rosemary Honey…my new holiday 4th of July appetizers. They’re quick and easy, and everyone loves these sweet and savory bites. Sweet dates stuffed with creamy goat cheese, wrapped in salty bacon, then tossed in rosemary honey that’s hinted with just a touch of spice. Bake these bites up in the oven until the bacon is crisping and “candied”. There never seems to be enough of these bites…addictive, festive, and perfect for holiday entertaining! I had to give these a special touch. SO, I added in rosemary honey that’s hinted with cayenne pepper. The honey gives these dates a sweet, savory, and spicy taste. The salty bacon with the sweet and spicy honey makes for the best combo, but beware, these are highly addictive. Yes, this is the third time I’ve used addictive in this post, but it truly best describes these dates.

6. Cuban Sliders

Cuban Sliders - 4th of july appetizers

Loaded with meats and cheese, Cuban Sliders are filling and satisfying enough to be a meal! They are also a great appetizer for your next big gathering. If you love sliders as much as I do, check out my Italian Sliders and Reuben Sliders! I also have a homemade Hawaiian rolls recipe that would be perfect for sliders! Sometimes a ham and cheese sandwich just doesn’t cut it, although I have ham and cheese sliders that are pretty darn good! Anyway, to step it up a notch, I made these Cuban Sliders that are more of a meal than finger food. Of course, I had to sample one immediately, and the flavors did not disappoint! These sliders are so loaded with meat, I actually needed a fork to pick up the meat that had fallen out of the slider!

3. Italian Tomato & Basil Bruschetta

Italian Tomato & Basil Bruschetta - 4th of july appetizers

Tomato Basil Bruschetta is a refreshing Italian appetizer packed with so much flavor. Serve on toasted Italian or French loaf. A crowd-pleaser. Make sure you drain the tomatoes so your bread doesn’t get soggy. This is the key to making a really good bruschetta… Add balsamic vinegar, this adds a hint of sweetness. Be sure to use an Italian or French loaf. The loaf should be slightly hard, not too soft. Bruschetta should be crunchy. Lastly, use a garlic clove to brush olive oil on each piece of bread before toasting. This adds a hint of garlic flavor to the bread.

1. Bacon Crackers

Bacon Crackers - 4th of july appetizers

The salty-sweet-savory-spicy crunch of these bacon crackers will push all of your buttons. The name of this recipe tells it like it is. They’re basically crackers with candied bacon on top, plus a little pepper to make sure you really get hooked. Let’s face it, cheese and crackers just don’t make for a crackin’ party. But put bacon on a cracker, and that’s an appetizer that every carnivore can get behind. As tempting as a nice thick piece of bacon might sound, thinner bacon actually works best for this recipe, since thick-cut bacon takes longer to crisp up and might make the crackers burn. Don’t be shy with the brown sugar–it helps to weigh down the bacon so it doesn’t curl up, and there’s no illusion that these bacon crackers are a healthy food anyway.
